Britain’s ex- Prime Minister Tony Blair has joined leading investment banking giant JP Morgan as a part time advisory to the CEO and other senior members of the company. Blair had ended his tryst as a Prime Minister last June, and after that was busy serving the Middle East as an emissary of peace for this trouble infested belt.
However, this is an honorary position, and though it seems to augment Blair’s image as a peace mediator, it doesn’t seem to satisfy his other worldly needs, if I can say so!! This is because, if sources are to be believed, the bank is paying him $1m (£500,000) for the services rendered. He said that he’s looking forward to giving valuable suggestions on social and economic reforms being interminably linked to globalization that will greatly benefit the firm.
Mr Blair has also said that he has plans to have similar assignments with other companies of various sectors in the days to come.
